Tourism Award presented to AIDA Cruises

The mayoress of the capital of Lanzarote, Astrid Pérez, has awarded Cruceros AIDA the 'Arrecife 2022 Tourism Award', in a ceremony that took place this Friday, 30 September, during the recess of the ordinary plenary session.

The award ceremony was held at the Mayor's office, and it was the company's representative, Felipe Castro, who collected the Arrecife 2022 Tourism Award.

"It is a joy and an honour for us to be able to award this year's distinction to AIDA Cruises, which in addition to being a very important shipping company for the capital, has contributed enormously to the economic recovery after the pandemic." - Astrid Pérez

"AIDA Cruises is a key player in cruise tourism in Arrecife, and more and more people are choosing a route that passes through the capital of Lanzarote to enjoy their holidays," added the mayoress.

On the other hand, the Councillor for Tourism of the Arrecife Town Hall, Armando Santana, extends his congratulations to the shipping company. "Cruceros Aida has shown loyalty and commitment to our municipality, and we are proud to give them the award this 2022", says the councillor.

The company assures that it frequently chooses Lanzarote mainly for its climate, given the summer atmosphere practically all year round, as well as for the great variety of excursions and places to visit all over the island.

In 2022 a total of 76 stopovers are planned for Lanzarote, with an estimated 125,000 cruise passengers, a figure higher than in 2021, when there were 45 stopovers.
