SEARCH AND RESCUE - On a Beach of Lanzarote

Covering the huge area of the Canary Islands, the Spanish Air Force’s 802 Escuadrón is responsible for search and rescue duties over and around the Canary Islands. To carry out this task, the squadron is assigned aircraft, helicopters and some one hundred personnel.

An impressive water rescue was now demonstrated by the special unit on the beach of Las Cucharas on Lanzarote. The response team operated from a 'Super Puma' helicopter and rescued the person in distress with the help of a rescue swimmer.
