CONNECTION LUXURY: LANZAROTE FIGHTS FOR 'NOBLE TOURISTS' IN LONDON

Lanzarote presents its new 'PREMIUM' tourism strategy at the 'Connections Luxury' event in London.

Lanzarote was the sponsor of the opening reception of this meeting, which is embedded in the 'Global Travel Week'.

The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the 'Society for the Promotion of Lanzarote (SPEL)', presented the new 'Tourism Strategy of the Upscale' and the new positioning of the island in this sector at the 'Connections Luxury' event in London.

The president of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, who was represented in the English capital by the managing director of SPEL, Héctor Fernández, appreciated "the presence of the island at a tourism event of great calibre like this one, where we presented 'Lanzarote Premium', our strategy aimed at promoting sustainability, nature, culture and gastronomy, among the values proposed by César Manrique at the birth of the island as a destination."

In this context, Héctor Fernández (photo) highlighted that "once again we have the opportunity to develop relations with new tourism markets and strengthen existing relations with British tour operators, who are the main visitors to Lanzarote, by presenting them with the changes to the model we are working on".

It remains to be seen to what extent the new direction of the Lanzarote brand into the high-end, and therefore high-priced, market segment will be met with approval and response in the UK, and to what extent the previous target groups of more price-conscious families will be irritated by the change.
