THUNDERSTORMS! JUST OVER LANZAROTE

At the moment, a very rare natural phenomenon is taking place over Lanzarote: a thunderstorm front is moving along the coast of Lanzarote.

It is really very rare that the overall meteorological constellation leads to thunderstorms on Lanzarote. Around 9 pm on Saturday evening, one could not only hear the dull rumbling, but also see the lightning in the beginning rain.

The Civil Protection of the Canary Islands had already warned on Friday of the possibility of thunderstorms occurring on the islands of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.

The picture shows the airport of Lanzarote during the thunderstorm. It is a single frame shot from a 60 fps footage, so it was possible to capture the mood and reproduce the moment, even if the quality of the footage is not up to the usual standards.
