FIFA WORLD CUP 2030 BID: Spain and Portugal together with Ukraine

As expected, Ukraine will be involved in the joint bid for the 2030 World Cup by Spain and Portugal.

This was announced by the presidents of the three national associations in Nyon, Switzerland. It would be the second major football tournament for the country shaken by Russia's war of aggression, after the 2012 European Championship finals together with Poland.

"The project aims to be a source of inspiration for society through football, sending a message of solidarity and hope," the Spanish federation RFEF wrote in a statement. According to the statement, the bid is supported by the European Football Union (UEFA) with Ukraine as a possible co-host. The conditions for Ukraine's participation in the bid are to be determined at a later date.

A joint bid by England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland was withdrawn in favour of a bid for the 2028 European Championship.
