CHINESE SPACE JUNK - SPANISH AIRPORTS CLOSED
Several Spanish airports had to close their airspace on Friday morning! The reason: an uncontrolled Chinese rocket crash.

The airports of Barcelona, Tarragona and Ibiza were affected, as Spanish media reported with reference to the Civil Defence. The measure was ended after about 40 minutes shortly after 10 a.m., as the Civil Defence announced on Twitter. However, it could still lead to considerable delays in air traffic throughout the day, the newspaper "El País" wrote. All air traffic at the airports came to a temporary standstill.
The reason for the closure of the airspace was a warning by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) that a part of a Chinese missile of the type "Long March 5B" weighing between 17 and 23 tonnes could come down over the affected parts of Spain.
